More information about Alto Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

The Alto Cabernet Sauvignon shimmers a bright dark red in the glass and impresses from the very first moment with its wonderful combination of dark and red fruits. The bouquet reveals aromas of blackcurrants, plums and cherries in particular. A subtle oak note rounds off the first impression perfectly. On the palate, the red wine impresses with its complexity and great structure. The tannins of the Alto Cabernet Sauvignon are noticeable but well integrated. The long-lasting red wine matures for eighteen months in French oak and is a wonderful accompaniment to dark meat, game or savory dishes. But the Alto Cabernet Sauvignon is also a must for fans of the grape variety on its own.

ALTO Wine Estate

Alto is a farm with a rich history that lives up to its status as one of the most iconic wineries in the Western Cape Winelands. The first title deeds date back to 1693, but it was not until 1919 that the farm was fully dedicated to viticulture. Alto stretches along the steep northern slopes of the Helderberg and for nearly a century has built a reputation as one of the most respected red wine producers in South Africa.
