More information about Alto Shiraz 2018

The Alto Shiraz shimmers a bright red in the glass and exudes a wonderful floral aroma with undertones of violets and spices. The red wine, which has matured for eighteen months in French oak, impresses on the palate with its balanced character and great fruity notes, accompanied by a good tannin structure. Alto Shiraz is best enjoyed with Mediterranean dishes, lamb or grilled meat. But this red wine is also a delight on its own.

ALTO Wine Estate

Alto is a farm with a rich history that lives up to its status as one of the most iconic wineries in the Western Cape Winelands. The first title deeds date back to 1693, but it was not until 1919 that the farm was fully dedicated to viticulture. Alto stretches along the steep northern slopes of the Helderberg and for nearly a century has built a reputation as one of the most respected red wine producers in South Africa.
