With Balcones Texas Whisky ZZ Top Limited Edition 2022, centuries-old distilling tradition meets the taste of the new world, giving Balcones its very special notes. The limited ZZ Top Edition was produced in collaboration with the band ZZ Top. The edition was named after the album entitled Tres Hombres. The Texas whisky is based on blue corn, malted barley and rye in unknown proportions. They were matured separately for several years and then the distillates were married together. The result is a Texas whisky with aromas of dark chocolate, honey and spices. The taste of the ZZ Top Edition impresses with notes of red grapes, shortbread and malt. The Balcones Texas Whisky ZZ Top Limited Edition 2022 was bottled unchill-filtered and uncolored at 50.0% vol.

Balcones Distilling
2008 was the year the idea for Balcones was born. A passion drove us to create something special and authentic here in the heart of Texas. It all started in an old welding shop under a bridge in Waco. Over the next year, we replaced the roof, knocked down walls, laid brick, cut pipe, installed copper stills from Portugal and set up a whiskey distillery in this quaint building. Proud of what we achieved under our own steam, we began distilling in 2009.
