More information about Feingeisterei Hazelnut Spirit Organic
The "common hazel", also known as the hazel bush or hazelnut bush, is a plant species from the birch family. It is native to Europe and Asia Minor and is very common in Central Europe.
Its edible fruits, hazelnuts, have been used by humans for thousands of years. The nuts or the hazelnut oil extracted from them are mostly used for baked goods, sweets (nougat, brittle) and ice cream.
So it was obvious for us to process the unique taste of the hazelnut into a spirit. To do this, the chopped, lightly roasted nuts are soaked in neutral alcohol and, after a certain maceration time, gently and slowly distilled so that the aromas of the hazelnut can be captured.
The result is a wonderfully nutty spirit with an intense hazelnut flavor, light chocolate and nougat notes and subtle roasted aromas.
The hazelnuts used here come from an organic farm in Piedmont. They are hand-picked and of exceptional quality, which is reflected in the taste of the distillate.
Goes particularly well with chocolate.
