More information about Oxidation
The boundaries between beer and wine are becoming increasingly blurred and we can't say that we mind This used to require a clear choice between beer and wine, but today there are magical hybrid creatures that conjure up the best of both worlds in our glasses Breweries often bring experts on board to develop these special brews The winemakers not only bring their knowledge and expertise, they often also bring grapes, must or barrels with them
This was also the case with Freigeist Bierkultur's latest creation: Sauerland Oxidation was created in collaboration with the Dr Loosen winery and the team from the Middle Moselle region was on hand to advise the brewers:The jointly produced Grape Ale has a strong 6.0% alcohol content and presents itself in the pale golden color of fine white wine An olfactory composition of bright grapes, freshly cut forest herbs and oak wood fills the air and awakens the thirst for beer The first sip reveals a light-footed body with tangy carbonic acid Light malt meets the fruity sweetness and acidity of white grapes and spicy yeast Sauerland Oxidation is an unconventional pleasure that will satisfy both wine and beer lovers
Oxidation is a term used in oenology and describes the effect that oxygen has on wine
