"Dresden's charm and Saxony's soul" can be found in every bottle of Hellinger 42. Whiskies distilled according to the Scottish model and finished with Saxon perfection are created in the Dresden Whisky Manufactory. These single malt whiskies reflect the soul of Saxony with their unmistakable character and taste. Martin Brambach, known as a crime scene inspector, actor, author and connoisseur, regularly inspects the progress of production and is impressed by the outstanding quality of these Saxon whiskies.
Smoking over peat and maturing in American bourbon casks give this whisky its dark golden color and full, smoky taste.
The nose reveals a light malty smoke, combined with vanilla, honey and hints of orange and mandarin. There are also notes of apples, pears and melting dark chocolate.
The taste is a clear, delicate smoke without medicinal notes. Vanilla, cloves and pepper emerge, while the smoke becomes clearer later on. The taste of campfire smoke, combined with caramel, dominates over the light fruits.
The finish is short and intensely smoky, characterized by spicy notes.
