More information about Caribbean Rum Cask
Scotland and the Caribbean are two very different places on the map, but that doesn't mean they can't be brought together: Scottish brewery Innis & Gunn has set itself the task of uniting the culinary delights of its homeland with those of the Caribbean The medium of choice is, of course, a beer, and what brew could better represent Scotland than a Scottish Red Ale?
The Caribbean only comes into play after the actual brewing process has been completed The finished beer is filled into wooden barrels for further maturation, which previously housed the finest Caribbean rum and still carry a lot of aroma This strong note is transferred into the beer during storage and enriches the natural range of the red ale with woody spice, exotic vanilla notes and the unique taste of fine rum
The creation is called Caribbean Rum Casket and presents itself in a warm copper red in the glass The taste is made up of delicately melting chocolate notes, rum-infused fruit, vanilla and wood If you want to enrich the Scottish specialty with even more Caribbean flavours, you should serve it with jerk chicken, grilled pork, Cuban sandwiches or seafood
