More information about Kleinood de Herder 2020
The Kleinood De Herder flows into the glass in a beautiful ruby red and smells wonderfully of sour cherries and blackberries. A hint of thyme, black pepper, vanilla and cigar box successfully round off the bouquet. The fruity notes can also be found on the palate and are well balanced by sweet spices and velvety tannins. The red wine cuvée consists of Shiraz (69%) and Cinsault (21%), both grape varieties matured for eighteen months in French oak. A small proportion of Mourvèdre (10%), which was not aged in oak, skillfully rounds off the red wine. Enjoy the Kleinood De Herder either on its own or serve it with duck or a nice fillet. Incidentally, the name of this full-bodied and expressive wine translates as "shepherd". Just as the shepherd patiently searches for the best grazing land for his sheep, the Kleinood team also patiently and carefully selected the vineyards that provided the grapes for the red wine.
