Morgenster Rigoletto Sangiovese 2022 - Red wine

The Morgenster Rigoletto Sangiovese has an intense aroma of red fruit. Aromas of sour cherries and cranberries are particularly present and are surrounded by floral tones. Light nuances of green tea and fynbos successfully round off the bouquet. The cherry notes can also be found on the palate and are accompanied by undertones of herbs and leather. Thanks to its fresh and uncomplicated character, Morgenster Rigoletto Sangiovese is a delight on its own, but also pairs wonderfully with tomato-based dishes or a delicious cheese platter. The red wine owes its name to the former owner Giulio Bertrand's passion for opera. He was also the one who brought the Sangiovese grape variety from his home country of Italy to South Africa - today, only a few wineries in the Cape grow this versatile red grape variety.
