The maximum balance of aromas
Cabernet Sauvignon
The aromas of a Cabernet Sauvignon grape can vary depending on ripeness and terroir, but typically notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry, plum, tobacco, cedar and green bell pepper, sometimes even some mint or eucalyptus are perceived.
Statement from Werner Rette
"Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon are two excellent grape varieties that are perfect for exclusive food pairings due to their intense flavors. It is not without reason that both are internationally known and appreciated and are mainly used for wine. Naturally, these grape varieties have more fruit sweetness than our WILD Grape Red. But that is basically the fate of cultivated plants.
At Obsthof Retter, we achieve the fine and balanced balance between fruit acidity and sweetness in these two varietal newcomers through the selection of optimal growing sites, the ideal harvest time, our many years of experience in processing and finally a storage period of more than 6 months behind the walls of the Pöllauer Schlosskeller.
Our tip for enjoyment
1/16 in a red wine glass, drinking temperature: 11 - 13 °C. As a non-alcoholic accompaniment to food, our WELL Cabernet Sauvignon is particularly recommended with poultry, hearty salads, pasta, cream cheese or dessert.
