Pinetta 21-Wine-Hybrid

When brewers go on vacation, it's rarely just about relaxing, reading by the pool and filling their bellies with the delicacies of faraway lands. Most of them can't quite forget their profession even when they're switching off and are constantly coming across inspiration, exciting ingredients and new collaboration partners:Inside The team at Oedipus Brewery is no exception, so it's no surprise to us that they not only brought home freckles and packets of coffee from their recent trip to Italy, but also the foundations for a whole new range of beer creations

On a round trip through the picturesque north of Italy, they landed at the Vignaioli Contrà Soarda winery and immediately made friends with the local winemakers Over a glass of wine, plans were made and the brewers were given wine, yeast and a few wooden barrels This friendship gave rise to a whole series that combines wine and beer to create irresistible brews

Pinetta is one of these brews and is based on a wine called Vespaiolo This grape variety produces particularly sweet, white grapes and owes its name to its popularity with wasps ("vespa" in Italian) The barrel-aged delicacy brings a stately 9.5% alcohol content to the table and enchants with beery charm and the elegance of a good wine
