More information about Orca Brau Local IPA
After the Easy Pale Ale and the Kellerpils, the Local IPA is brew number 3 from the brewing system of the young and fresh brewery Orca Brau. Felix vom Endt is the brains, heart and hands behind the Orca Brau project and runs the business together with his wife and child. The dynamic trio has been making a name for itself right from the start and is inspiring the beer scene with creative beers and real classics with a new twist.
The Local IPA is a modern interpretation of the traditional India Pale Ale and is called "local" because the hops used come from Franconia, as does the brewery itself. The highly aromatic Cascade and Huell Melon hop varieties give the beer its juicy character and make the Local IPA not only a local hero but also a real summer hit.
The IPA flows into the glass in a cloudy golden hue and forms a small head. On the nose, Local IPA is spicy and fruity with a strong hint of sun-dried grain. The first sip reveals a medium body with a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel. A good amount of carbon dioxide makes the aromas dance on the tongue and tingles delicately on the palate. On a base of oven-fresh bread, the hops blossom in all their fruity facets and delight the taste buds with notes of gooseberry, pine resin, juicy orange and tangy lemons. A dry bitterness rounds off the juicy taste experience.

For more than three years, Nuremberg's pleasure landscape has been enriched by an attraction: Orca Brau opened its doors in 2017 and has since enriched the German beer landscape with craft-brewed beer specialties. Like all his fellow brewers, Felix has always enjoyed drinking beer. Unlike the others, however, he not only drank it, but also wrote about it. Felix founded one of the first beer blogs in Germany and tested himself with wit and thirst through the offer in German beer shelves. At some point, his professional interest in drinking led him to start his first attempts at the kettle. At home at the stove, the future brewer's first creations were born.
