More information about Spier Frans K Smit 2017
The Spier Frans K Smit shines in the glass in an intense, powerful red. The red wine cuvée, named after winemaker Frans K Smit and made from Cabernet Sauvignon (61%), Merlot (25%), Cabernet Franc (7%) and Malbec (7%), reveals its multifaceted richness on the nose. The intense aroma of red fruits is accompanied by cigar box. A hint of violets and mint chocolate rounds off the first impression perfectly. On the palate, the red wine, which has matured for eighteen months in French oak, scores with nuances of dark berries accompanied by violets, smoky tones and oak notes. Well-integrated, noticeable tannins give the Spier Frans K Smit a great mouthfeel. This red wine is therefore a treat for the palate on its own, but it also pairs excellently with aromatic dishes with dark meat.
