More information about Tokara Director's Reserve Red 2020
The Tokara Director's Reserve Red shines in the glass in an incredibly dark shade of red. Only the best grapes from the best vineyards on the slopes of the Simonsberg were used for the cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon (71%), Petit Verdot (13%), Merlot (10%), Cabernet Franc (3%) and Malbec (3%). They deliver a complex red wine that impresses on the nose with a multi-layered aroma of dried tobacco leaves and currants. A hint of violets and spices successfully rounds off the first impression. On the palate, notes of ripe plums, blackberries and black cherries are particularly noticeable. Spicy undertones and fine tannins make the taste experience of the Tokara Director's Reserve Red perfect, before the red wine with its strong character finishes with a lingering aftertaste. The red wine is matured for 22 months in French oak and is an excellent accompaniment to dark meat, which can also be grilled. But the Tokara Director's Reserve Red is also a delight on its own.
